While Social Distancing is used as a constraint to slow the flow of the novel coronavirus, the flow of (dis)information through our distributed social networks is susceptible to a new kind of threat: 5th Generation Warfare.
5th Generation Warfare (5GW) is characterized as the manipulation of an opponents’ information flow such that their (opponents’) decision-making processes are biased in your favor. In 5GW, the target may not even know it has been attacked and that the adversary has already won.
Make no mistake, 5th Generation Warfare is a cognitive battle and if you do not control information, your decision-making cycle will be disrupted.
